Green Energy Campaign

As communities across the region explore ways to adopt green energy strategies, focused planning and collaboration will be key to the success of initiatives.

That’s why MAPC has launched the Green Energy Campaign. Right now, cities and towns are navigating opportunities for green energy solutions to address different challenges. Support for the concept of green energy is practically universal, but it takes planning and collaboration to translate that support into actual projects that are assets to their host communities.

  • Energy conservation efforts offer cost savings and greater efficiency.
  • Increased use of renewable energy results in less pollution and greenhouse gas reduction.
  • Production of renewable energy can address increasing energy demands and reduce the region's reliance on fossil fuels.
  • Participating in the green economy supports more green jobs, technological innovations, and strengthens the region as a potential leader in field.

As the regional planning agency for the people who live and work in 101 cities and towns in the Greater Boston Region, MAPC looks forward to working with municipalities, ally organizations and individuals to collaborate on these goals.

Green energy planning is a key strategy outlined in the MetroFuture Plan.  Now more than ever, coordination, assessment of best practices, and concerted efforts to increase public participation in the process are necessary to effectively implement green energy solutions.
